FAQ: What is the difference between an analog and an IP camera?

Analog cameras are the age old devices that are on millions of buildings and are all over the place it seems like they are everywhere! Analog cameras are limited to lower resolution and are traditionally run over coax and have a power cable run with them.

IP cameras now are becoming the “standard” in cameras. They are slowly pushing analog cameras by the wayside. IP cameras now have the capability to have display resolutions in full HD and even higher! IP cameras come in the standard box camera and domes like their predecessors. Some manufacturers even have the capability to display a 360 degree view! WOW All over a standard CAT5 cable!
